Knowing the Secrets
Mysteries of God

Up-Dated - Friday, December 06, 2013

Scripture

1 John 2:20 "But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things."

Those with an anointing or unction
know the Truth and know what God is doing.
Of course, God never tells any of us everything.
But all of us, who walk with Him, know something of what God is doing.

1 John 2:21 "I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth."

These people know the Truth.
And are receiving more Revelation from John through his letter, because they know the Truth.

1 John 2:22 "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."

Deniers of Christ do not know the Truth, only lies.
They have to insight into the mind of God.
Everything is a contradiction.
Everything is a discrepancy.
Everything is a dispute.

They are not willing to accept Christ or the Truth by faith.
And look what happens,
When the Son is denied or contradicted in His purpose the Father is also denied or contradicted.

There are many today
who are seeking after the Father, but are denying the Son and in the process have denied the Father as well.

The Scripture said,
".denieth the Father and the Son."

They would never admit it,
because the Truth is hid from them.
They do not know the Secrets and Mysteries of God.

Look at the very next verse.

1 John 2:23 "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also."

Those that don't know the Son
cannot know the Truth.
The Son is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Those that know the Truth,
know the Father and the Son.

1 John 2:24 "Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father."

Abide with the Truth
Notice the words ···
Abide in you
Remain in you
Continue in the Son and the Father.

1 John 2:25 "And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life."
1 John 2:26 "These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you."
1 John 2:27 "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."

The Truth rests on or anoints the person
that is abiding in Christ.

Those that are abiding
will be taught by the Truth
and know the Truth
and know the Secrets and Mysteries of God.

1 John 2:28 "And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming."

Abide in the Son
with anointing or unction.

Those abiding in the Truth
will know where they stand at the Catching-Up Day and enjoy what they are standing on.

The sermon is about
Knowing the Secrets and Mysteries of God.

Text

Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

God is going to show or reveal
those that are close to Him
what He is doing,
what His Secrets and Mysteries are.

Proof

Preacher,
are you sure of that?
Isn't this an obscure, isloated verse?

Not at all,
look at

Gen 18:17 "And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;"

Abraham was the Friend of God
not because he was sinless,
not because he was perfect,
not because he was God's pet,
not because he had been picked out by the Luck-of-the-Draw,
as if there actually was some sort of Luck of the Draw.

No, Abraham was a Friend of God
because he was simply obedient.
And since he was a Friend God showed him the things that he did.

Look in the next verse
to see the obedience of Abraham.

Gen 18:18 "Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?"
Gen 18:19 "For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him."

God said,
I can count on this guy.
I can rely on him doing what he is supposed to do.
He is not going to spoil his children.
He is not going to raise his kids simply to impress everyone.
He is not going to let his employees miss the whole point of life.

Then, right after this verse,
God commences to tell Abraham
He is going to bring judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah.

God tells Abraham
before the cities are destroyed that they will be destroyed.

God tells Abraham
some of His Secrets & Mysteries.

I am certain
that God reveals more to some than others not because He likes them more but because they love Him more.

He it is that loveth Me

John 14:19 "Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also."

It won't be long fellows
and I, Jesus, will not be visibly seen, but you men will see me because I, Jesus, will live and because I live, you will live, too.

John 14:20 "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."

At this time
you men will know Me
and you will know the Father
and you will know that you are in Me and the Father.

Note these men
are going to discover some things about God.
Some secrets are going to be revealed.

To whom
will these secrets be revealed?

John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."

If you keep the things
which Jesus said to keep, then you will be the very people that love Jesus.

And those people
that love Jesus will be loved by Jesus and The Father

and, And, AND ···
Jesus will reveal Himself to them

They will know a Secret
about the Lord.
They will know something about the Lord that those who do not keep His commandments will not know.

Notice what it says
we must do what Jesus does.

And, what is that?
Love God will all you have
and
love your neighbor as yourself

This is not born-again
but this is what people who are already born again must do.

Skip down to verse 26

John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

The Father will send the Holy Ghost
to teach us His secrets,
to help us remember His secrets,
to live with us in secret.

The person that abides with Christ
will know Christ better
will know the Father better
will know some things
The Father and Christ will reveal.

Fear

Watch the next verse
to see where much of the problem lies.

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Fear is
the killer,
the paralyzer,
the gagging of the Saint.

Because fear
will keep love away,
will keep knowledge of the Father away,
will keep knowledge of Christ away,
will keep the sweet secret knowledge of peace away.

Disrespectful of God

Psa 25:14 "The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant."

God's inspiration is in those
that respect God.
Have a fear of God.

It used to be
that people were afraid to say ···
They were heathen.
They were atheists.

Because they had a healthy respect for God.
God's almighty power.
God's ever-watchful eye.
God's ever-present being.
God's eternal judgment.

The Secrets and Mysteries of God
are understood by those that have a Fear of God.

Perversion

Prov 3:32 "For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous."

God's inspiration is in those
that are righteous.

Those that pervert righteousness
do not know what God is all about.

The perverts are calling
right, wrong;
wrong, right.
Incidentally
when I say pervert
I am not talking about just the homosexuals, but ···

··· all that would say
"a little white lie won't hurt anything"
"I just don't see it that way"
"I can't understand the old Bible"
"I have a right to do what I want with my own body"
"that would not be politically correct"
"I believe ···"

They pervert the truth.
They twist it to make it fit their life style.

They also,
have no revelation of Truth and they see no Secrets of God.
They understand none of His Mysteries.

Natural Man

1 Cor 2:12 "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."

We live in the information age
sometime in the very near future
all knowledge of mankind will be readily available to any person.

But, just as true
Sometime in the very near furture
all foolishness of mankind will be just as available to any person
of any age
of any background
of any creed.

And, also just as true
all the books in the world,
all the computers in the world,
all the Internet in the world,
will not have knowledge of God unless it be revealed to them by God.

1 Cor 2:13 "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."

The Holy Ghost teaches godly things
and He does not use the wisdom of men to do it.

The Holy Ghost
uses spiritual things to teach spiritual things.

So in order to know the Secrets of God
we had better learn to listen to the Holy Ghost.
Leave the Natural Man.
Become spiritual people.

Look at the next verse.

1 Cor 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
1 Cor 2:15 "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man."
1 Cor 2:16 "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

Man cannot teach God
but is taught of God and when he is, he may have the mind of Christ.

When man is taught of God
he receives the secret things of God, not known by others.
God reveals them to him.

Not only can the natural man
not receive the things of God, but
God relegates him to a place where he cannot even see God's face.
God calls the natural man by the name of the leader of natural men, Satan.

Mat 16:23 "But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."

Scorners

Prov 14:6 "A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth."

The criticizers
Never find the wisdom of God.
The secret things of God are never revealed to them.

This verse teaches
the criticizers are grippers, complainers, murmurers, belly-achers, because they have no understanding of the situation.

Lying Spirits

The King of Israel and the King of Judah
were trying to decide whether to go to battle or not.

They had called in false prophets
who said they should, but the King of Judah who had some light from God and knew a few of God's Secrets, asked if there was not a True Prophet around?
The King of Israel said there was a True Prophet, but he never prophesied good stuff.

I don't suppose
it ever dawned on him that if he were a true Prophet that he must be telling the Truth whether it sounded good to him or not.

1 Ki 22:15 "So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king."
1 Ki 22:16 "And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?"

See,
the King of Israel knew what the Truth was in this case.

1 Ki 22:17 "And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace."
1 Ki 22:18 "And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?"

The King of Israel
wanted the Truth but he wanted the Truth changed to suit him.

1 Ki 22:19 "And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left."
1 Ki 22:20 "And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner."
1 Ki 22:21 "And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him."
1 Ki 22:22 "And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so."
1 Ki 22:23 "Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee."
1 Ki 22:24 "But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?"

One of the Liars
attempts to cover his lies.

But we know
the revelation of ···
Prov 28:13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."

Apparently God knows the verse, Himself
look at the next verse.

1 Ki 22:25 "And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself."
1 Ki 22:26 "And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;"
1 Ki 22:27 "And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace."
1 Ki 22:28 "And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you."

God had revealed to Micaiah
that Ahab would not return in peace, and he didn't.

We don't know, but we could

1 Cor 2:9 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

We don't know
what God is up to for us.

But we could know ···

1 Cor 2:10 "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

God shows His Secrets
to those that walk with His Spirit.

1 John 1:5 "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."

It takes light
to see the good things of God, to see the revelation of God.

1 John 1:6 "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"

Fellowship with the Lord
is where knowledge of God is revealed.

But we can't see the Truth of God
and walk outside that fellowship in darkness.

1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

Walk in the light
with Him in the light so we can have fellowship with others that walk in the light.

Sunlight
The sun is not like a flashlite
that only shines in one direction at a time.
The sun shines out
in all directions at the same time.
And equally in every direction.

The same for the Light from the Father.
It goes out from Him in every direction at the same time.

But there are those
that choose to sit in darkness and miss altogether what God has shown to them.

Sunlight on coal or diamond
The sun shines into every area of the earth and up against everything, no matter how big or small, no matter how cheap or valuable.

When the sun shines on a piece of coal
which is mostly carbon and black hardly any of the light is reflected out again.

But when the sun shines on a diamond
which is the same piece of coal which had been heated, and pressed and tried and found true, the light is reflected in a dazzling array of colors and brightness.

And those that look on that diamond
know and understand fully the aspects of the diamond.
But the coal hides its true self from the rest.
